The article is called “Innovative Reinforcing Gives Old Structure New ‘Light’,” a project for MaineHealth with his previous employer, which showcased Keith’s expertise of and reverence for multifaced challenges when he engineered large opening in the existing two-way structural concrete slab utilizing carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) as reinforcement. The building was transformed, allowing an abundance a natural light to penetrate the interior via a large roof-top skylight. This structure was originally an 89,000 square foot Sears Roebuck Co. building, constructed in 1946.
Other projects Keith has managed include:
- Tufts University Natatorium in Medford, MA
- Residence Inn Addition in Portsmouth, NH
- Wessex Woods Senior Housing Apartments in Portland, ME
- LYMO Construction Co. Inc., Headquarters in Londonderry, NH
- MaineHealth Building Renovation in Portland, ME*
- University of Southern Maine Dormitory in Gorham, ME*
- InterMed Health Care Addition in Yarmouth, ME*
Keith is professionally affiliated with ASCE, SEAM, AISC and volunteers his time to Engineers Without Borders. When not at work, Keith frequently spends time with his family in Rangeley, Maine, where he continues renovation on his cabin.
