Metro Green Residence, Arlington, VA Architect:  Kaplan Thompson Architects This 3100 sq. ft. home resides in Arlington, Virginia, and was designed to be on the fore-front of environmentally conscious design.  The home has a roof garden and utilizes many “green” elements in construction including a SIP (Structural Insulated Panels) roof system, SIP wall system, geothermal heat, and rapidly renewable materials.  A hybrid timber frame structure with NordicLam beams and posts originated from renewable east coast lumber are incorporated into exterior curtain walls.  It received a LEED Platinum Award in 2009.       Additional Projects
